A welcome from your guide
I truly believe running a community business or charity is one of the most important jobs there are.
You are not here to make millions. You are here because you care and you’re passionate about change. You deserve to be seen, supported and properly funded for it.
I know how thinly stretched that can feel, because I live it too. My community business, About the Town, runs a community magazine publication — of which I am the editor; we have an art studio, a coffee shop and also run several projects every single year. Projects like #Hashtaggirls, where girls aged 10–14 have been learning how to stay safe online, understand culture and comparison, recognise grooming and bullying, and prevent self-harm and suicide. These girls then created their own publication, by girls, for girls, about everything they have learned.
I’m also a mum to my daughter Isobelle, my 25-year-old son, and our two dogs, Bella and Luna. My family reminds me every day why legacy matters more than a one-off win. I want my work to last, and I want that for you too.
For years, I have run several businesses, both community and profit-making, and I’ve helped organisations turn busywork into communication that actually moves people. I have worked with names like Power of Men Magazine and The Rotary Club, alongside independent mortgage companies, aesthetics clinics and property investors, and the same principles work for community businesses: clear stories, consistent habits, and a way of showing impact that makes funders, volunteers and local supporters say yes.
This course is the method I wish I had at the start. Ten practical modules. Fillable worksheets. Six bonus resources. No jargon, no overwhelm, no pretending you have more time than you do.
Work through it at your own pace. Share it with your team. Come back to it whenever you need. And trust that what you are doing is worth being noticed.
I’m honoured you’re here. Let’s make your work impossible to ignore.
